"Database has not been opened yet" Error on Running Integra SmartIcon
When clicking on the Integra SmartIcon in the SmartIcon toolbar, the following error can occur:
Integra is run from within a source or target Notes database from which or to which data is to be exported or imported, The user is required to enter into the target or source Notes database before running Integra. Usually, a user does not have the ability to run the SmartIcon unless he is in a Notes database and the SmartIcon should be disabled if the user is still on the workspace. This is because when the SmartIcon is installed, it is not added to the Universal toolbar but rather to the Context Sensitive toolbar used when inside a database.
If however the user manually adds the Integra SmartIcon to the Universal toolbar, then they might try and click on the Integra icon from the workspace. This will cause the above error. The reason is that Lotus Notes allows you to not display the SmartIcons, which is in fact the default setting. If the Integra SmartIcon is deployed to users who run the SmartIcon install however they do not have their SmartIcons visible, they may be tempted to go to the SmartIcons preferences, display the SmartIcons and manually drag the Integra SmartIcon into the toolbar. This is not the correct course of action.
Displaying the Notes SmartIcons will be sufficient and when the user enters into a database, the Integra SmartIcon will automatically appear following the installation.
If adding the SmartIcon manually, please ensure that the Context Icon setting is selected (see screenshot below). |
